Complete Change of Pace
Can someone PLEASE TELL ME why it’s so difficult to find a good little cocktail dress that preferably isn’t black to wear to an early-evening wedding? I should add “appropriate” and “flattering” to the list of modifiers, too, because I’m getting a little old for those dresses that look like the ones that slutty girls would wear to prom. And I don’t want a GIANT BALL GOWN either, thankssomuch. Or feathers.
Oooo. Get one of those ball gowns dresses with the whale-bone canopy! 18th Century is the new black.
probably because most poeple want black dresses with a bit of slutty.
i guess i am probably not helping.
What about Ann Taylor?
I feel for you… every time I have to go to a formal party I have SUCH a hard time finding a nice looking, flattering dress. I miss those days when I was looking for a dress for prom/homecoming and I could just find the prettiest one on the rack, get it in my size, and be done with it. Now it’s a miracle if I can find anything that makes me look halfway decent! What worked for me lately was a long dress that was a velour-type of material, it was not quite so clingy as all of those other dresses. Or a long formal skirt and top seems to always work much better than a dress (for me anyways)
I say stick with the target bag.
Have you tried BCBG? I know the prices are ridiculous, but I bought a dress there that I’ve worn on so many occasions it was totally worth the cost. I mean, when you figure cost per wear and all.
